If, Sir, you should approve of any proceedings, I would beg you to recommend to the favourable notice of the Commander-in-Chief Mr. Clement Airtzel, Second Master of the "Grasshopper," and Mr. Laythwaite, Boatswain of the "Diana," the latter of whom was allowed, as on several former occasions, to accompany me; both these officers exhibited the greatest zeal and rendered essential service to me in the arduous work which we had in hand.
The prisoner has been handed over to the Police, and will be tried on the 18th proximo. Two of the crew of the recaptured junk, one of whom was wounded, remain to give evidence against him.
